How it works

What we ask, why we ask it, and what you're agreeing to when you pay a deposit.

Five minutes, five steps.

Everything the crew needs to turn up prepared, and nothing you'll be asked twice.

  1. Both addresses

Postcodes plus the things that actually change the job: floor, lift, how far the van parks from the door.

  2. Tick your items

A quick picker of boxes and furniture. Heavy and fragile items are flagged so the right crew size comes.

  3. Your price, instantly

A fixed price for small photographed moves, a capped estimate for bigger ones, or an honest "we need a quick video call".

  4. Small deposit

Card deposit secures the date. Free cancellation up to 48 hours before; if we ever cancel, you get it all back.

  5. We text, you relax

Recap now, reminder two days out, a confirm the day before, arrival time on the morning.

Three kinds of price, none of them a guess.

Most quote forms hand you a number and a shrug. Ours tells you how firm the number is, and why.

Fixed price

Smaller moves with photos

Studio and one-bed moves where you've sent photos of what's going. The price is the price, bound to the items you declared.

Capped estimate

Most family moves

You see an estimate and a cap — the most you can be charged for the declared inventory. Finish early and you pay the estimate, not the cap.

Quick video survey

Big, awkward or high-value

Four-bed houses, pianos, £15k+ of contents: we'll ask for a ten-minute video call before we commit. Better than a number we'd have to change.

Undeclared items on the day are charged at published overage rates, so the price stays fair for everyone. Gas appliances need a Gas Safe engineer to disconnect and reconnect — that isn't included.

What actually changes the price

Removals pricing is mostly time: how long it takes a crew to carry your things from where they are to where they're going. So the questions we ask are the ones that change that time.

Floors without a lift
Every flight adds carrying time at that end. A lift takes most of it back off.
Parking distance
A van 50 metres from the door roughly doubles the walk per item. If the street needs a bay suspension, that's a council fee we pass through at cost.
Heavy and fragile items
Appliances, wardrobes and glass need two pairs of hands and slower handling. Flagging them means the right crew size, not a surcharge surprise.
Dates
Month-end Fridays are the busiest days in the country. A flexible mid-week date is cheaper, and we say so up front.
Distance
Drive time between the two postcodes, from real road routing — not straight-line miles.

Deposit and cancellation

Your deposit is 20% of the price, between £30 and £150, taken by card when you book. The balance is charged on completion — the crew never handles money.

  • Cancel 48 hours or more before the move: the deposit comes back in full.
  • Cancel inside 48 hours: the deposit is kept, because a crew and a van were held for you.
  • If we cancel, for any reason at all, you are refunded in full. Always.

Insurance, in plain English

Every crew we send holds goods-in-transit and public liability insurance that we have checked and dated on file. A crew without valid cover cannot be assigned to your job — the system refuses, not just the policy. For contents worth more than the standard goods-in-transit limit, tell us the value in the booking and we'll arrange the right cover or a survey.

Full terms are on the terms page. They're short.
